John Adedayo B. Adegboyega was born on the 17th of March 1992, in Peckham, South London, to Nigerian Immigrant parents. His father Samson Boyega is a Pentecost Preacher who wanted him to follow in his steps. His mother Abigail Boyega works with disabled individuals. John has two older sisters named Grace and Blessing Boyega. He recognized his interest in acting at the tender age of 5 and directed all his efforts toward nurturing his talent.
