Anil Kumble is one of the great cricket players of India. He is the first player in the world after England’s Jim Laker to take 10 wickets in an innings in Test cricket. Kumble is the first Indian spinner and second Indian player to cross the 200-wicket mark in limited-overs international cricket. He played as a batsman in the early cricket matches. Kumble made his first-class debut for Karnataka against Hyderabad in 1989 in which he took four wickets. Seeing his excellent performance, he was selected in the Under-19 team against Pakistan.
